FanDuel's new NFL season offering: more choice, more control

FanDuel, Flutter's U.S. brand and the #1 Sportsbook in America, is heading into the 2026 NFL season - which kicked off last night with the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Australia between the 49ers and the Rams - with a package of updates designed to give customers more control over how they play. All three build on something that already worked elsewhere in the business: FanDuel Rewards Club builds from Casino's proven loyalty model for Sportsbook for the first time, Bet Protect+ moves from basketball to football, and AceAI gets a dedicated new entry point on player pages.
"Our customers look forward to football season, and this year we're giving them more control of their experience," said Karol Corcoran, Managing Director, Sports at FanDuel, adding that the goal is to make it the brand's most rewarding season yet.
FanDuel Rewards Club
FanDuel Rewards Club is new to Sportsbook, but not new to FanDuel: it extends a model that already worked on FanDuel Casino, rebuilt for how sports fans actually play. According to Aman Gupta, FanDuel's Sportsbook Growth Senior Vice President, it comes down to three things: transparency, choice and predictability, so customers know when rewards are coming, understand how they're earning them, and can pick the benefit that matters most to them.
FanDuel's boosts and bonuses have grown over the years, and along the way they've ended up spread across different parts of the app, easy to miss if you're not checking in daily. Rewards Club brings daily rewards, tier status and progress together in one place, with levels tied to each customer's existing level of play.
The program also adds a new weekly "Choose Your Reward" feature, live every Monday, letting eligible customers pick the benefit that fits how they play: a Deposit Match, Bet Reset Token, Bonus Bet or Profit Boost Token. Layered on top are milestone-driven Challenges and Mystery Reward Boxes that reveal a surprise token when a customer levels up. During beta testing, more than 80% of surveyed customers said Rewards Club improved their FanDuel experience.
The choice-first design also ties into FanDuel's Play with a Plan initiative, which encourages customers to set a budget and think ahead about how they play. Gupta frames the launch as a starting point: "This is the start of the journey, not the end of the journey."

Bet Protect+
Bet Protect+, FanDuel's full-game injury protection feature, is coming to NFL wagers after a strong run through the NBA Playoffs and WNBA season. For a flat 3% of a wager, customers can add injury protection to a player prop bet: if the player leaves the game and doesn't return, straight bets are refunded in cash and parlay legs are removed and recalculated. It's a meaningful expansion of an idea FanDuel piloted earlier in 2026, when customer research found that more than half of surveyed bettors preferred paying for full-game coverage over accepting free but partial protection.
The NFL rollout adds two refinements: customers can now auto opt-in to Bet Protect+, including on bets funded with Bonus Bets, and the My Bets page will show affected bets in real time as injuries are confirmed, with cash settlement following immediately.
Game Intelligence
FanDuel is also overhauling its player pages with deeper game intelligence: full game logs, a rolling look at the last five games, and team-level stats including records and standings, with player prop trends, favoriting, injury reports and league rankings following later in the season. Sitting alongside all of it is a new "Ask AceAI" tab, bringing FanDuel's conversational AI assistant directly into the research flow. AceAI already lets customers ask about stats and available markets and add selections to their bet slip in one exchange. Since its wider rollout, FanDuel has pointed to a simple signal of traction: the more conversational the tool gets, the more customers come back to it.

Part of a bigger picture
None of these three updates started from scratch this NFL season. Sportsbook Rewards Club drew inspiration from FanDuel Casino's loyalty model. Bet Protect+ is moving from basketball to football. AceAI is getting a new front door on player pages. The pattern across Flutter's brands isn't single big-bang launches, it's taking what already works somewhere in the business and deliberately extending it: more customer choice in how value is earned, more control over risk, and faster ways to research a bet. The NFL season is kicking off. FanDuel is ready.
