Betfair was born to create a fairer betting marketplace. We transformed sports betting when we pioneered the concept of a betting exchange in 2000, allowing customers to set their own odds for the first time and bet against one another. We have remained a disruptive force in the industry ever since.
Today, Betfair is one of the largest international online sports betting operators and the world’s biggest betting exchange. We have a significant presence in the UK and Ireland as part of Flutter’s UK&I division, but also operate within many international territories as part of Flutter International.

Betfair is shining a light on safer gambling, creating a supportive dialogue and new tools that give players more ways to control their play, and supporting everyone so that we keep it a level playing field. It’s only fair.
Fairer Game campaign
In 2018, Betfair launched the Fairer Game campaign which aimed to promote better training and coaching opportunities for female coaches in football. The campaign saw Betfair fund 50 female coaches to undergo their UEFA B licenses and was fronted by former Arsenal and England ace Rachel Yankey, who offered advice and support to the selected coaches throughout. Only 29 women held the UEFA A license in England at the time compared to 1,481 men – and it was time to make a change.
The campaign was featured in national press and celebrated by UK politicians resulting in an invitation to the House of Commons to celebrate its success.
